Chief Executive Officer

The Chief Executive Officer shall be in charge of the company’s day-to-day management in accordance with the instructions and orders issued by the Board of Directors. The CEO shall be responsible for ensuring that the company’s accounting complies with law and that its financial management is organised in a reliable manner.  The CEO shall provide the Board of Directors and its members with the information necessary for carrying out the duties of the Board of Directors’.

The CEO shall undertake measures that are unusual or extensive in view of the scope and nature of the company’s operations only if authorised to do so by the Board of Directors, or if it is not possible to wait for a decision by the Board of Directors without causing significant harm to the company’s operations. In the latter case, the Board of Directors shall be notified of the measures as soon as possible.

Jussi Karjula, born 1975, has been the CEO of Hoivatilat since 2010. Karjula has been a member of the Board of Directors of Lännentila Oy since 2013 and a member of the Board of Directors of Perunakauppa Luonnosta Oy from 2005 to 2016. Jussi Karjula was a member of the Board of Directors of Rakennusliike Lapti Oy from 2008–2012. Prior to joining Hoivatilat, Karjula was the CEO of Pohjoisen Kantaperuna Oy (now Perunamestarit Oy) from 2004–2010. Jussi Karjula was the Chairman of the industry association Pro Peruna from 2008–2010 and a member of the Board of Directors of the Swedish company HZPC Kantaperuna AB from 2007–2010. Karjula received a BBA in Marketing and Economics from Oulu University of Applied Sciences in 1999.

Executive Team

The Executive Team assists, among other things, in the preparation of the strategy, operating principles and the joint matters of the company. The Chairman of the Executive Team is the CEO of the company.

Tommi Aarnio, born 1983, has been the CFO of Hoivatilat since 2015. Prior to joining Hoivatilat, Aarnio worked as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers Oy from 2008–2015. Aarnio received an MBA from the University of Oulu and was certified as an authorised public accountant by the Central Chamber of Commerce in 2011.  As Aarnio is currently not employed as an auditor, his APA certification is presently suspended.

Juhana Saarni, born 1988, has been the Property Manager of Hoivatilat since January 2017. Saarni has been employed by the company since 2011. During his entire work history, Juhana Saarni has been employed by Hoivatilat and he has a good overview of the property markets in the health and care sector as well as good knowledge of property management and maintenance. Saarni received a BBA in Marketing and Economics from Oulu University of Applied Sciences in 2012.

Riikka Säkkinen, born 1979, has been the Communications Manager of Hoivatilat since February 2017. Säkkinen has been employed by Hoivatilat as the Administrative Manager since 2015. Prior to joining Hoivatilat, Säkkinen was employed by Nordea Bank in the customer service sector as well as worked as a teacher in Oulu Vocational College. Säkkinen graduated from the University of Vaasa with a Master’s Degree in Economics in 2004.

Riku Patokoskiborn 1973, has been the Executive Vice Precident and the Director of the Southern Finland region of Hoivatilat since January 2018. He has strong knowledge of the market in the southern Finland, as well as competence in land use planning and concept creation. Patokoski has worked at Peab and Skanska among other companies, in responsible management positions. Patokoski graduated from the University of Oulu with a Master’s Degree in Architecture in 2002.

Timo Wikberg, born 1966, has been the Business Director of Hoivatilat since May 2019. He has a long experience in social and healthcare services, which gives him a strong understanding of Hoivatilat’s customers’ service production and the municipal sector. Prior to joining Hoivatilat, Wikberg worked at Attendo for 14 years as Business Director and Sales Director.
